Job summary

DNI (Delaware Nation Industries) seeks a Data Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize cloud-native data solutions for JWAC at Dahlgren, VA. You will work on data ingestion, analytics, ML-ready datasets, and AI/ML infrastructure within a TS/SCI/SAP environment.

Responsibilities include building ETL workflows, integrating diverse data sources, and exposing data via REST APIs while ensuring security and FinOps best practices. Onsite work required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a related technical discipline.
• Three+ years of full-time experience in computer science, data engineering, or data science.
• Experience designing or implementing cloud-native data solutions on AWS.
• Experience with cloud-native data warehouses or analytics platforms (Redshift, Athena, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation).
• Experience supporting data science applications and tools (Python, Jupyter, SageMaker, Glue DataBrew, QuickSight).
• Experience implementing cloud-native data security controls (IAM, encryption, network segmentation).
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI/SAP access and work onsite in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer data ingestion, ETL, integration, transformation, validation, publication, and lifecycle-management workflows.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
• Design data architectures and managed data stores to support analytics and model training.
• Create REST APIs and web services to expose data to JWAC applications.
• Support AI/ML infrastructure, including model hosting and LLM integration.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing using AWS-native tools.
• Apply FinOps practices for cost allocation, right-sizing, and budget monitoring.
• Implement DoD Zero Trust and NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls across data environments.
