Job summary

BizFirst is assisting with a Cloud Software Engineer position at Fort Meade, MD. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure for SIGINT mission systems, leveraging OpenStack, DevOps practices, and AI/ML-driven software for data dissemination.

The candidate will work onsite in a secure government facility, require TS/SCI with FSP, and will contribute to modernizing cloud architecture and software for intelligence community missions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science; 12 years of software engineering experience, 16 years may substitute for the degree.
• Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure with OpenStack or similar platforms.
• DevOps experience with cloud security and operations.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and testing complex software systems to documented requirements.
• AWS or Azure Solutions Architect certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix command line and Python.
• Experience with Windows PowerShell and network automation tools.
• Willingness to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure for intelligence mission systems using OpenStack and similar platforms.
• Work in a DevOps environment applying cloud security and operations practices.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems to documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for design adherence and document results.
• Provide input on software components and use of COTS/GOTS products.
• Analyze system performance, usage, and workflows with users and engineers.
• Automate infrastructure and network tasks with Python and PowerShell.
