Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Java Software Engineer to support a Government Consulting company located in Herndon, VA, with 100% onsite work. The role focuses on Agile DevOps for mission-critical systems, developing and maintaining enterprise software, cloud environments, and operational tools.

Responsibilities include full software lifecycle, DevOps delivery, and design/testing of customer solutions; on-site operations management is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java software development.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and methodologies.
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
• Background working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Active TS/SCI clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Poly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software systems, tools, and applications within a DevOps environment.
• Support the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, and implementation.
• Deliver Agile DevOps support for mission-critical and cloud-based systems.
• Contribute to the design, development, and testing of customer solutions.
• Oversee operations and maintenance activities for essential systems.
