Job summary

PBF Energy Inc. in Parsippany, NJ, is seeking a Transportation Assistant to join the Transportation and Commercial Infrastructure group. The role focuses on cross-modal analytical support, invoice processing, and reporting.

The position is on-site five days a week, with responsibilities including invoice validation, vendor follow-ups, and data reporting. A degree in business-related fields and 2+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in business, accounting, finance, supply chain, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, accounting, invoice processing, or analytical roles.
• Oil, energy, refining, or bulk-commodity experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, accounting, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and across functions.
• Strong written and verbal communication and Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SAP; Power BI/Tableau a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate, code, and process transportation and storage vendor invoices.
• Verify invoices against contracts, rates, tariffs, and shipment records.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Track open claims, disputed charges, credits, and recoveries to resolution.
• Coordinate month-end transportation and storage accruals with Accounting.
• Support budget-to-actual reporting and cost reconciliation.
• Maintain auditable records for invoices, accruals, claims, and credits.
• Assist with recurring reports on KPIs and transportation metrics.
