Job summary

The role requires setting up parts, controlling heat, inspecting welds with calipers and gauges, and supporting fabrication and repair tasks. Onsite, full-time with competitive hourly pay between $26 and $34, DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience with TIG/GTAW welding on various metals.
• Proficiency in reading weld procedures and blueprints.
• Ability to maintain quality and safety standards in welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform GTAW/TIG welding and other welding processes per WPS and blueprints.
• Select fillers, electrodes, and parameters per material and job.
• Set up parts with fixtures to ensure proper fit-up.
• Prepare joints by cleaning and prepping surfaces.
• Produce fillet, groove, butt, and full-penetration welds as required.
• Control heat input and weld quality to avoid defects.
• Inspect welds with calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Grind and repair welds to meet specs.
• Operate plasma/torch cutting; perform weld repairs as needed.
• Safely move materials using cranes and forklifts; keep workspace clean.
