Job summary

RTX San Diego Manufacturing Depot is seeking a Test Technician to conduct functional and performance testing on electronic and mechanical systems in a 9/80 onsite schedule. You will evaluate failed assemblies, document procedures, and work with engineering to improve testing processes, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in testing environments, familiarity with DMMs, oscilloscopes, HV meters, and related equipment. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a testing environment.
• Experience with test and evaluation measurement equipment, including DMMs, Generators, Oscilloscopes, Partial-discharge detectors, Digital/Analog high-voltage meters, Hipot Testers, etc.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional and performance testing on electronic and mechanical systems.
• Evaluate failed electrical assemblies and components using test and measurement equipment to determine root cause down to component level.
• Document test procedures and results accurately.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test processes and methodologies.
• Work with senior Electrical Engineering, test technicians, and QA towards evaluating, repairing, and moving failed assemblies through Repair & Return processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
• Read and interpret Assembly Drawings, Work Instructions, Test Procedures and Schematics.
• Generate reports on test status, issues, and actions.
