Renesas Electronics is seeking a Test Engineering Intern in San Jose, CA, onsite, to support development, debug, and characterization of automated test solutions for semiconductor products.

You will write test code in Python or C++, analyze data, and collaborate with Design, Product and Quality teams through the full test lifecycle. This hands-on role offers training, crossfunctional exposure, and a path to developing practical engineering skills in a fast‑growing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Fundamental understanding of analog and digital circuit concepts.
• Basic programming in Python or C++.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and debugging test programs on ATE platforms.
• Write test code in C++ or Python to support characterization and production test.
• Support bench characterization with oscilloscopes, source measure units, and power supplies.
• Process and analyze test data (STDF, CSV, Excel) to identify trends.
• Assist in load board bring-up and debugging under supervision.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including test plans and summaries.
• Collaborate with Design, Product, and Quality teams to understand test requirements.
