Job summary

RTX seeks a Systems Engineering Co-op to help design and develop next-generation flight deck display systems for large commercial aircraft. You will work with experienced engineers across system, software, and hardware domains to create high-integrity avionics solutions that are safe, intuitive, and reliable.

This onsite role in Cedar Rapids, IA offers hands-on experience across requirements analysis, system modeling, integration, verification, and flight-critical testing in a dynamic aerospace

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design, model, and integrate avionics display solutions for commercial air transports.
• Develop and execute comprehensive, system-level operational test procedures for flight deck display systems.
• Design, code, and test software utilities and automation scripts to support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Participate in requirements capture, system architecture trade studies, and traceability analyses across the engineering lifecycle.
• Support hardware-software bench integration, troubleshooting, and anomaly investigation in specialized avionics test laboratories.
• Apply commercial aviation development standards and processes, such as ARINC 661, ARINC 664, and ARP4754.
