Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids is offering a hands-on engineering internship/co-op focused on avionics integration for helicopter platforms. You will learn how customer requirements are translated into design, verification, and testing, working with systems engineers to mature capabilities.

You will gain experience with DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, and ALM within an Agile aerospace program, while supporting real-world flight-critical systems and engaging across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Interested in aviation, avionics, or systems engineering.
• Coursework or experience with requirements, software, electronics, embedded systems, testing, or systems design.
• Familiarity with Agile and tools such as DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, or ALM.
• Experience troubleshooting technical projects and willingness to ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Work with systems engineers on avionics capabilities for MH-47 and MH-60 helicopters.
• Capture, decompose, allocate, review, and verify requirements.
• Develop engineering requirements and test procedures for new capabilities.
• Perform hands-on testing in Systems Integration Laboratories (SILs).
• See how Cedar Rapids engineering decisions support aircraft and crews in demanding environments.
