Penske Logistics is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor in Wilmington, CA to oversee order entry, load planning, and load monitoring, while supervising salary associates and supporting hiring and performance management.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years related functional Supply Chain (Freight Management), Shipping, Transportation experience.
• Experience with Load Planning and dispatching a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable, interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire, monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control, evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch/warehouse operations, assist in new associate training, provide relief coverage for operational duties, and maintain site operating system knowledge for compliance and accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as inventory accuracy and control, understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability, closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
• Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategy, provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance, ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies.
• Understand location-specific customer goals, ensure the customer knows Penske is committed to helping them meet objectives, identify areas for Continuous Improvement.
• Plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet/warehouse equipment and collaborate with hourly associates to ensure safe operation of equipment.
