Helion is offering a 12-week onsite Materials Engineering Internship in Everett, WA for graduate students in Materials Science/Engineering or related fields. You will assist in developing novel materials, conduct property tests, and analyze results to guide experiments.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The program provides exposure to cutting-edge fusion materials research, with opportunities to present findings at team meetings

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in a related field.
GPA 3.0+ required.
Strong fundamentals in materials science and mechanics.
Experience with lab techniques and material characterization.
Proficient data analysis with MATLAB/Python/Origin.

Responsibilities

Assist in R&D of new materials including polymers, metals, ceramics, and composites.
Conduct experiments to test material properties under various conditions.
Analyze data to identify trends and optimize properties.
Support material characterization using microscopy and spectroscopy.
Document results and present findings to the team.
Participate in cross-functional team meetings.
