Job summary

Piping Technology & Products, based in Houston, TX, seeks a Subcontracts Manager to lead subcontracting for fabrication work. The role requires deep experience with cutting, welding, machining, and supplier management, and collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Finance.

You will translate drawings into clear scopes, manage risk, and ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget subcontract performance. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business, construction management, or related field.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience with industrial manufacturing firms, subcontractors, or fabrication suppliers.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specs, tolerances, welding requirements, and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full subcontracting lifecycle from scope to closeout, including bidding, negotiation, and performance review.
• Develop clear scopes of work translating drawings and specs into subcontract packages.
• Assess supplier capabilities, negotiate terms, manage changes, and resolve performance issues.
• Establish milestones, monitor safety, quality, cost, and delivery; implement recovery plans as needed.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to ensure alignment and compliance.
