Job summary

Hoffman Structures, Inc. (HSI) is seeking a Concrete Project Engineer to support the Engineering Department on the self-performed structural concrete scope for Hoffman’s projects in Boise, ID.

You will work with the VP of Operations, the HSI Project Manager, and subcontractors to resolve coordination and technical challenges on complex concrete initiatives. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in structural concrete project engineering, solid knowledge of concrete design and construction methods,

Qualifications

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in structural concrete and rebar construction project engineering.
• Strong knowledge of concrete design, construction techniques, and materials.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering or construction engineering management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience required.
• Education background in materials and methods of construction.

Responsibilities

• Run meetings involving area managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Interface between area managers, multiple vendors, and/or subcontractors to help resolve field coordination items.
• Interpret design, construction documents, technical manuals, and quantifying materials required for construction from the documents.
• Coordinate all structural concrete and rebar elements including embeds supplied by others.
• Review and process submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various elements and systems.
• Generate, receive, and distribute requests for information (RFI).
• Receive and distribute change documents issued by other team members.
• Field survey layout of control lines and benchmarks.
• Serve as the technical advisor at onsite field construction office.
• Ability to coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP systems within the overall structural concrete project design.
