Job summary

Summit Staffing, Inc. is seeking an On-Site Staffing Manager to oversee a large distribution center in Wilmer, Texas. You will manage 70–100 temporary associates and serve as the primary contact between Summit Staffing, the client, and the workforce.

This hands-on role requires experience in fast-paced warehouse staffing, active recruiting, and close collaboration with client management to address attendance, turnover and performance. On-site presence in Wilmer is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of staffing/recruiting experience, preferably in a high-volume warehouse/distribution environment.
• On-site staffing or on-site management experience.
• Proven ability to manage a temporary workforce of 50+ employees.
• Strong recruiting and sourcing skills, including experience with Indeed and LinkedIn.
• Experience conducting Boolean searches and outbound candidate sourcing.
• Experience conducting interviews, onboarding, and employee follow-up.
• Experience managing attendance, turnover, performance, and employee relations.
• Comfortable working on-site in Wilmer, Texas and familiar with the South Dallas market.

Responsibilities

Job Overview:

Summit Staffing is seeking an experienced and highly motivated On-Site Staffing Manager to oversee the daily staffing operations for a large distribution center in Wilmer, Texas. This position will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, managing, and retaining a workforce of approximately 70–100 temporary associates while serving as the primary point of contact between Summit Staffing, our client, and our temporary workforce. The ideal candidate is a hands-on staffing professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution environment, managing high-volume recruiting, addressing employee relations issues, coordinating staffing needs, and maintaining strong communication with client management. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced staffing professional who enjoys being directly involved in both recruiting and day-to-day workforce management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily staffing operations for approximately 70–100 temporary associates assigned to the client location.
• Serve as the primary on-site representative for Summit Staffing and maintain a strong working relationship with client management and supervisors.
• Recruit, interview, screen, and onboard qualified candidates to meet ongoing staffing requirements.
• Maintain an active recruiting pipeline to quickly replace employees due to turnover, absenteeism, or increased staffing requirements.
• Utilize Indeed, LinkedIn, Boolean searches, job boards, social media, community recruiting, job fairs, employee referrals, and other sourcing methods to identify qualified candidates.
• Coordinate and participate in job fairs, hiring events, community recruiting efforts, and walk-in recruiting activities.
• Conduct candidate interviews and evaluate applicants based on the client's job requirements.
• Complete new-hire onboarding, employment paperwork, orientation, and required documentation.
• Administer or coordinate forklift testing and certification processes when applicable.
• Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, performance, productivity, and overall reliability.
• Address employee questions, concerns, attendance issues, performance problems, and other employee relations matters in a timely and professional manner.
• Work closely with client supervisors and management to understand current and future staffing needs.
• Communicate daily staffing updates, open positions, attendance concerns, turnover, and recruiting activity to Summit Staffing management and the client.
• Maintain accurate employee records, staffing reports, timekeeping information, and other required documentation.
• Assist with timecard and payroll-related issues and work to resolve discrepancies quickly.
• Conduct regular employee check-ins to improve retention, engagement, and overall workforce satisfaction.
• Monitor turnover and develop practical recruiting and retention strategies to maintain staffing levels.
• Ensure temporary associates understand and follow client safety policies, workplace procedures, and attendance expectations.
• Assist with employee investigations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other workforce-related matters in accordance with Summit Staffing policies.
• Maintain a visible and professional presence on the client's site and build positive relationships with both associates and client leadership.
• This position requires someone who can actively recruit, not simply manage an existing employee roster.

The On-Site Staffing Manager will be expected to:

• Build and maintain candidate pipelines for high-volume warehouse and distribution positions.
• Create and maintain job postings.
• Conduct outbound recruiting through Indeed and LinkedIn.
• Perform Boolean searches and resume sourcing.
• Contact candidates by phone, text, email, and social media.
• Organize and participate in job fairs and hiring events.
• Develop relationships with local community organizations and recruiting sources.
• Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to support immediate and future openings.
• Track recruiting activity, interviews, starts, turnover, and open requisitions.

Required Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of staffing/recruiting experience, preferably in a high-volume warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Previous experience working in an on-site staffing or on-site management capacity.
• Proven ability to manage a temporary workforce of 50+ employees.
• Strong recruiting and sourcing skills, including experience with Indeed and LinkedIn.
• Experience conducting Boolean searches and outbound candidate sourcing.
• Experience conducting interviews, orientations, onboarding, and employee follow-up.
• Experience managing employee attendance, turnover, performance, and employee relations.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Comfortable working directly with client management and frontline employees.
• Ability to prioritize multiple staffing needs in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets, and staffing/recruiting technology.
• Must be comfortable working on-site in Wilmer, Texas and familiar with the surrounding South Dallas market.
