Job summary

Addison Group in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Staff Accountant for a temporary-to-permanent opportunity. The role handles full-cycle accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close, ensuring GAAP compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, onsite, with competitive compensation of $25-$36/hour and potential conversion to $65k-$80k annually plus benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of Staff Accountant or related accounting experience.
• GAAP knowledge.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Experience with accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately at a fast pace.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Professional presentation and ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts receivable activities
• Complete monthly account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly schedules and sales reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support journal entries, account analysis, and other general accounting activities
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with reporting and other finance-related projects as needed
• Work closely with accounting leadership to research and resolve discrepancies
• Communicate professionally with internal employees, customers, and vendors
• Identify accounting issues or process improvement opportunities and take initiative to address them
• Provide additional support across the accounting and finance department as needed
