Job summary

Vector Talent Solutions is seeking a Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) for a Rock Island, IL project. This full-time, onsite role oversees the project safety program, serving as the primary safety liaison among the project team, client safety personnel, management, and subcontractors.

The SSHO will identify hazards, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan and applicable OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of construction safety experience on USACE projects.
• Ability to develop and sign JHAs as part of APP.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and site safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as full-time onsite safety representative during active work.
• Develop, review, and maintain permits, plans, and safety docs.
• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and track deficiencies.
• Submit daily safety reports in required formats.
• Participate in pre-job and pre-task meetings and site walkdowns.
• Verify equipment condition, training records, and work controls.
• Ensure compliance with APP, JHAs, OSHA rules, and subcontract requirements.
• Stop work when imminent danger or noncompliance is identified.
• Support incident response and investigations.
• Provide safety coaching to employees and subcontractors.
