Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Dulles, VA, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer – Level 3 or 4 for a 9/80, onsite role in the Space Systems organization. You will develop embedded software for spaceflight platforms, establish requirements and verification plans, and work with diverse engineering teams across hardware and software interfaces.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with several years of experience, proficiency with data protocols (UART, MIL-STD-1553, SPACEWIRE), and hands-on BSP/driver work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, OR Master’s with 3 years, OR PhD with 1 year.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required, current and within scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software modules for flight software.
• Establish flight-software requirements, testing, and verification plans.
• Configure BSPs and integrate device drivers for hardware platforms.
• Perform trade studies via simulations and development boards.
• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate spacecraft components and software.
