Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector invites an experienced Embedded Software Engineer – Level 5 to join the Dulles, VA team. You will develop space flight software, work with UART, MIL-STD-1553, SPACEWIRE, SPI and IO interfaces, and collaborate with other disciplines to define requirements and verification plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience – OR – Master’s degree with 10+ years – OR – PhD with 7+ years of experience.
Requires an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance, current and within scope.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software modules with UART, MIL-STD-1553, SPACEWIRE, SPI, and IO interfaces.
Define Flight-Software requirements, testing, and verification plans in collaboration with other disciplines.
Develop and configure board support packages (BSPs) and integrate device drivers.
Perform trade studies via simulations or development kits.
Integrate spacecraft components and flight software with the simulation platform.
Contribute to hardware-in-the-loop platforms and design/debug activities.
Prepare design documentation, analysis, test results for internal and external customers.
