Job summary

Sun Solar in Springfield, MO is seeking a Warehouse & Inventory Specialist to own day-to-day warehouse operations. You will manage receiving, storage, and movements of solar, roofing, electrical, and construction materials, ensuring accuracy and timely availability for field work.

You will collaborate with Operations and field personnel to forecast needs, maintain organized records, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Experience in inventory control preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in warehouse operations or similar.
• Experience in solar, roofing, electrical, construction, or renewable energy preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management and receiving procedures.
• Ability to use barcode scanners and inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation and accuracy of Springfield warehouse.
• Maintain inventory records, counts, reconciliation, movements of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Receive, inspect, document, organize, and store incoming materials and equipment.
• Coordinate incoming shipments and deliveries; ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and address shortages or discrepancies; escalate as needed.
• Review project requirements and stage materials for scheduled field work.
• Ensure field personnel have project-specific materials and equipment for scheduled work.
• Coordinate with Operations and field personnel regarding projects, shipments, and material availability.
• Utilize inventory systems to maintain timely warehouse records.
• Manage return and organization of unused or excess materials after field work.
• Maintain clean, safe warehouse; follow handling procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve inventory control and efficiency.
• Serve as onsite contact for warehouse needs and deliveries.
• Provide general onsite office coverage as needed; route deliveries and visitors.
• Communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors.
