Job summary

GE Vernova invites a Software Test Engineer Intern to join our QA team in Bellevue, WA or Atlanta, GA. You will work with experienced engineers to perform manual and automated testing within the SDLC, learning to deploy and validate GridOS applications in a simulated environment.

This internship offers mentorship, exposure to Katalon, qTest, Git, Jenkins and AWS, and a chance to contribute to test plans, bug reports, and test automation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Java, or JavaScript).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual and automated test cases to identify bugs and defects.
• Assist in writing, maintaining, and updating test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
• Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and daily stand-ups to understand requirements and contribute to quality goals.
• Document, track, and verify software defects using our internal issue-tracking tools.
• Set up and maintain test environments and data sets.
