Job summary

Peraton Labs is seeking a Software Research Engineer in the United States (MD-Silver Spring) for onsite work three days a week, with occasional travel to customer sites. You will contribute to cybersecurity research, develop and maintain software, and collaborate with a high-performing team to protect mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities include designing, testing, coding, and deploying solutions, participating in reviews, and ensuring robust data flow across components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas.
• Expertise in one or more of: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Work in a dynamic environment, requiring professional and effective interactions and communications.
• Be a developer on the front line of the research, development, design, and deployment of an existing application.
• Responsible for designing, testing, coding, and developing solutions to meet customer needs; ensuring software continues to function normally through maintenance, upgrades and testing; documenting the application and environment for future operations.
• Participate in design reviews, peer code reviews, and documentation for regular software releases.
