Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a software developer to design, build, and modify general computer applications and specialized utilities. You will analyze user needs, implement software solutions, and optimize operations by creating robust systems in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires demonstrated programming skills in Java, C#, Python or C++, and experience with PLM/ERP integrations, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines. On-site work in Big Lake, MN with ITAR compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years related experience
• Demonstrated programming skills
• Experience with Visual Basic, C++, MS Suite, CAD/CAM
• Demonstrated systems analysis skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with database connectivity in SQL
• Experience with ERP systems, IFS preferred
• Strong problem‑solving and creative ability
• Familiarity with PLM Systems, Siemens Teamcenter preferred (BMIDE configuration, customization, integration)
• Understanding of PLM data models, workflows, and lifecycle management
• Experience with integrating PLM with ERP, MES, and CAD systems
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
• Advanced proficiency in Java, C#, or Python
• Solid grasp of RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and microservices architecture
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software systems following specifications
• Maintain and modify existing software
• Analyze user needs to determine feasibility within time/cost constraints
• Perform custom programming to support business needs
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning
• Develop and direct software testing and documentation
• Consult with departments on project status and technical issues
• Other duties as assigned
