Job summary

Solterra School in the Norfolk area seeks an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to support students with speech, language, and feeding needs within an inclusive, classroom-integrated model.

The SLP will conduct evaluations, develop therapy plans, provide direct services (individual and small groups), support AAC and functional communication across settings, collaborate with teachers, OT, BCBA and families, and ensure compliant documentation and payer readiness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active (or eligible) Virginia licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred; CF candidates may be considered if supervision is available).
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and support students with diverse communication needs.
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and team collaboration capacity.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and treat speech, language, and feeding-related needs across the school day.
• Develop individualized therapy plans and measurable goals aligned to classroom needs.
• Provide direct therapy in individual and small-group formats; support AAC and functional communication.
• Collaborate with teachers, BCBA/behavior teams, OT, nurses, and families on plans and data collection.
• Create and maintain compliant clinical documentation and progress reporting.
• Deliver staff training to promote AAC access and reduce communication barriers.
• Support integration of communication goals across environments and transitions.
