Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Shipping and Transportation Operator for the Elkridge, MD site. The role focuses on packing, shipping, and tracking deliveries for government and commercial contracts, with on-site responsibilities and heavy equipment operation.

You will process SAP orders, maintain an organized shipping area, and ensure materials comply with MIL-STD-2073 while coordinating with manufacturing to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 2 years of government/military shipping/logistics experience.
• Experience loading large material for transportation.
• Experience with basic Microsoft products.
• Experience with SAP or another MRP system.
• Ability to obtain and maintain HAZMAT and forklift certifications.
• Able to lift 35 lbs independently and 100 lbs with a team.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Create and process deliveries through SAP.
• Maintain a clean and organized shipping workspace.
• Monitor packaging material, inventory, and orders for replenishment.
• Package finished product to MIL-STD-2073 standards.
• Create labeling and markings for packages.
• Track progress toward contractual and on-time delivery milestones.
• Keep records of and report completed shipments.
• Move material between locations using company vehicles weighing up to 26,000 lbs.
• Load large materials onto trucks/trailers using forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Work with manufacturing, inspection, and production control to support program goals.
