Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Elkridge, MD is hiring a Shipping and Transportation Operator to support packaging, deliveries, and on-time shipments for government and commercial contracts. The role focuses on SAP-based order processing, inventory control, and compliance with MIL-STD-2073, with heavy equipment operation and material movement.

The position is 100% onsite, requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2 years' shipping/logistics experience, SAP/MRP familiarity, and ability to obtain HAZMAT,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related Shipping/Logistics experience.
• Experience loading large material for transportation.
• Experience with SAP or other MRP system.
• Ability to obtain HAZMAT and forklift certifications, and Class A CDL.
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and process deliveries through SAP.
• Maintain a clean shipping workspace.
• Monitor packaging material, inventory, and orders for replenishment.
• Package finished product to MIL-STD-2073.
• Label and mark packages.
• Track progress toward on-time delivery milestones.
• Keep records of and report shipments.
• Move material between locations using vehicles weighing up to 26,000 lbs.
• Load large materials and equipment onto trucks using forklifts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, inspection, production control, and OPMs to support goals.
