Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. has been engaged to fill a Settlement Coordinator role for a nationally recognized plaintiff-side personal injury firm.

This full-time, onsite position is based in New York, NY and offers competitive compensation and a chance to join the firm’s growing Finance team. The ideal candidate will process settlement distributions, manage IOLTA trust reporting, and handle complex attorney-fee divisions with accuracy using QuickBooks and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• 2+ years of QuickBooks experience with financial transactions and recordkeeping.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities; experience with Smart Advocate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and record settlement distributions, including attorney fees, case expenses, liens and related transactions.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to report and reconcile IOLTA trust accounts across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with the firm’s financial institution to monitor activity and lines of credit.
• Review invoices, prepare expense reports, process reimbursements, and manage deposits/disbursements.
• Record and process operating expenses using QuickBooks.
• Calculate and reconcile attorney fees and referral fees with organized records.
