Job summary

Jobtailor in South San Francisco seeks an experienced coordinator/procurement professional to support multiple facilities and customers within a GMP environment. You will rotate through roles, travel as needed, and lead teams to meet customer requirements.

The role requires strong SAP knowledge, inventory management, and excellent communication. Travel and lifting up to 50 lbs are part of the job, with vaccination requirements where coverage applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or undergrad degree in business or science is a plus.
• 3+ years in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, or inside sales preferred.
• Microsoft Suite experience required.
• Overnight travel and ability to use your own vehicle required.
• COVID-19 vaccination required where coverage is provided.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs; GMP facility experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple facilities/customers in a strategic geographic area.
• Perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, and Glass Washers during vacations, leave, and emergencies.
• Act as backup to other territories and travel outside the designated territory when required.
• Coordinate and lead team efforts and work to customer requirements.
• Work with management on SOPs, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, and OJT.
• Interface with customers at multiple levels including directors and plant managers.
• Procure lab supplies and materials.
• Utilize SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, Avantor Systems, and customer applications.
• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings.
• Provide SAP support including customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing.
• Modify and maintain quality metrics and KPIs; manage related budget.
• Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals; create programs for efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area
• Perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, and Glass Washers during vacations, leave, and emergency situations
• Act as a backup to other territories and travel outside the designated territory when required
• Coordinate and lead team efforts and perform work related to customer requirements
• Work with management on Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-the-Job Training, and other tasks
• Interface directly with customers, including Points-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers
• Procure lab supplies and materials
• Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems, including SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and customer-specific applications
• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings
• Provide SAP support, including customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing
• Modify and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators
• Manage a budget related to expense reports
• Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives
• Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associates degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus
• 3+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, inside sales, etc., is a plus
• Microsoft Suite experience
• Overnight travel is required
• Ability to use your own vehicle
• Ability to fly if traveling further out
• Sites where coverage is provided require associates to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS
• A valid driver's license is required to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Traveling between multiple locations in the San Francisco area
• CDL is a plus, not a requirement
• Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus
• Forklift Certification is a plus
• Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is a plus
• IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, and IMDG are a plus
