Avantor is seeking candidates for an Inventory/Operations role serving multiple facilities in North Carolina. The position offers an hourly rate of $27–$31 and requires coordination of lab supplies, customer interfacing, and travel between locations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in inventory/procurement, strong communication, and a willingness to travel. GMP exposure is strongly desired, with benefits and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; associates/undergrad degree in business or science-related field is a plus.
• Experience: 3+ years in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/inside sales; GMP facility experience is strongly desired.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel between multiple locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP and inventory systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple facilities and/or customers within a geographic area.
• Act as backup to other territories and travel as needed.
• Procure lab supplies and materials interfacing with customer POC, purchasing directors, and plant managers.
• Provide SAP support and maintain quality metrics and budgets.
• Meet revenue, safety, and quality goals and develop programs for service efficiency.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Rate

$27 - $31

Shift

Monday–Friday, 7 am – 4 pm or 8 am - 5 pm

Geographic areas in NC and tentative locations

What We’re Looking For

Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Associates degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc., a plus. Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Suite Experience Overnight travel is required; you will be able to receive an overnight travel bonus. Will be using your own vehicle and the ability to fly (If traveling further out). Sites where coverage is provided require associates to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS. A valid driver's license is required to perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Traveling between multiple locations. Mileage reimbursement for miles driven to client locations. Having a CDL is a plus, not a requirement. Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus. Forklift Certification is a plus. Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is a plus. IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG a plus.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

• Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave, and /or emergency situations occur.
• Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.
• Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.
• Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
• Interfaces directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and materials.
• Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and/or other customer-specific applications.
• Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
• Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing).
• Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.
• Manages a budget related to expense reports.
• Meets revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives.
• Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
