Job summary

EnviroLogix, a leader in testing solutions for GMOs and contaminants, seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to own core accounting processes and guide remote shared-service staff supporting AP/AR. The role includes month-end tasks, financial analysis, and internal control compliance at a Portland, ME site.

As the position grows, responsibilities may expand toward leadership of selected AP/AR processes and potential people-management roles based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP; multi-entity experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review AP/AR, GL entries, reconciliations and related docs.
• Prepare financial statements and analyses per standards and policies.
• Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support internal controls and audits.
• Collaborate with global finance team for reporting and projects.
• Coordinate AP/AR activities, track deadlines and follow up with shared-service staff.
• Review supplier statements and payment-term initiatives; escalate issues.
• Establish KPI reporting and visual management for accounting processes.
• Provide coverage for international accounting team as needed.
• Develop, update, and maintain SOPs for Finance processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation.
• Communicate financial information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to junior Finance staff.
• Support transition of processes into IFS including testing and documentation.
