Job summary

Momentum Environmental is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and scalable internal controls. You will help with AP, job costing, AR, and month-end processes in a fast-paced service-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Excel and Word.
• Experience with Acumatica or other cloud-based accounting systems is a plus.
• Experience with job costing or construction/service-based accounting is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and work in a growing business.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze Accounts Payable and expense receipts for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Assist with job costing including labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment allocations.
• Support accounts receivable activities including cash applications and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Assist with fixed asset tracking and prepaid expense schedules.
• Support audit requests and financial reporting needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
• Participate in special projects and reporting as requested by senior management.
