Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to provide Tier 3 support for the Next Generation Network for a federal customer. The role is fully onsite in Merrifield, VA and requires an active Secret clearance.

The engineer will administer Cisco ACI, Cisco UCS, and VMware environments, perform diagnostics, and design documentation. Strong routing, firewall, VPN, and SD-WAN expertise are essential for mission success.

Qualifications

10+ years of network engineering experience or commensurate experience
Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability
Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP)
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting diverse network architectures
Strong knowledge of major routing protocols and firewalls
Experience with SD-WAN, DMVPN, and VPN technologies
Ability to design and update system documentation and network diagrams
Experience supporting both classified and unclassified environments

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 3 support and engineering for design, testing, and implementation of the Next Generation Network across DEA offices
Install, configure, and troubleshoot network architectures; manage SD-WAN, DMVPN, and security controls
Support classified and unclassified environments ensuring security compliance and high availability
Serve as technical escalation point for complex incidents and outages
Participate in architecture reviews, design sessions, and implementation planning
Collaborate with Security, Cloud, Systems, and Application teams for integrated solutions
Provide after-hours support and maintenance as required
Develop and maintain engineering documentation and network diagrams
