Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC in McLean, VA is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure IT networks for critical missions. The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco switches, firewalls, and VPNs, plus the ability to work in a fast-paced, government-style environment.

You will collaborate with system admins and engineers to plan networks from OSI Layer 1 to 3, monitor performance with SolarWinds, and document configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/engineering/math or 4+ years' related network experience.
• 6+ years' experience with Cisco Catalyst switches and other Cisco hardware.
• 7+ years' intelligence community experience as network engineer/administrator.

Responsibilities

• Assist System Administrators as assigned by Lead System Administrator.
• Assist Lead Network Engineer in developing and implementing IT/network plans.
• Manage network operations using SNMP tools and monitoring.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network problems with protocol analyzers.
• Plan and build network from OSI Layer 1 through Layer 3.
• Manage TCP/IP connectivity including addressing and subnetting.
• Monitor network per the monitoring plan.
• Install and document physical network cable plant.
• Configure and manage switches, routers, firewalls and VPNs.
