Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in marine engineering, shipyards, ship repair, vessel conversion, or comparable shipyard engineering environments.
• Direct shipyards/vessels construction, repair, conversion, or completion experience.
• Significant practical knowledge of marine machinery and shipboard mechanical systems (propulsion, auxiliary machinery, piping, fuel/lubrication, cooling, exhaust, pumps/valves, controls).
• Ability to interpret drawings, system diagrams, equipment information, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level onsite marine engineering support for vessel completion, startup, testing, commissioning, and delivery.
• Independently investigate and resolve engineering issues affecting construction completion, system operation, testing, and vessel delivery.
• Support startup and commissioning of propulsion, auxiliary machinery, piping, exhaust, fuel, cooling, lubrication, and other shipboard systems.
• Troubleshoot machinery and system problems identified during installation, startup, testing, and operation.
• Review vendor drawings and technical information to resolve shipboard issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate engineering solutions across mechanical, electrical, structural, test, production, and regulatory disciplines.
