Job summary

The Marvin Group is hiring for a senior electrical engineer specializing in high-reliability avionics hardware development. You will design embedded control modules, FPGAs, and Analog/Digital interfaces for military applications, ensuring robust V&V and documentation.

This onsite California role requires clear communication and collaboration with DoD programs. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in aviation electronics, strong VHDL/Verilog, C/C++, and experience with MIL-STD-1553B.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in military or aviation embedded electronics development with high reliability requirements.
• Proficient in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog and C/C++, with Python a plus.
• Experience with 1553B bus and embedded control modules for actuators/sensors.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B and aerospace quality standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decompose system requirements into electronic subsystem requirements via design trades.
• Define embedded electronics architecture for LRUs with I/O definitions.
• Design high-reliability PCBs for ECU and embedded modules.
• Create schematics, select components, and generate BOMs.
• Simulate circuits with LTSpice or similar tools.
• Perform PCB layout and prepare fabrication packaging.
• Oversee hardware assembly and test documentation.
• Define and perform V&V tests and generate test reports.
• Support program reviews and DoD acquisition processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
