Job summary

The Marvin Group in Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer for military avionics applications. The role focuses on MIL-STD-1553, CAN, RS232 interfaces, solenoid and motor driver control, and ADC data processing for flight hardware.

Ideal candidates will have HDL expertise, C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M/STM32, and FPGA/CPLD implementation experience, with strong V&V skills and the ability to work independently within a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• BSEE/CS/CE degree and 12+ years in relevant aviation or military firmware.
• Proficient in HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and SystemVerilog with FPGA/SoC work.
• C/C++ embedded software for ARM architectures and 1553/CAN experience.

Responsibilities

• Decompose requirements to FPGA/microcontroller level with design trades.
• Define architecture, I/O definitions for embedded LRUs.
• Develop firmware including RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, PnR.
• Perform timing analysis and guard against design constraints.
• Collaborate with Hardware to define test requirements and docs.
• Assist bring-up and V&V testing across environments.
• Support reviews: requirements, PDR/CDR, MRB, TRR.
• Other duties as assigned.
