Job summary

RTX, in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney, seeks a Senior Design Engineer to support the MSEN team. You will resolve high-priority engine teardown and rebuild challenges, determine disassembly resolutions, and contribute to depot design solutions.

The role emphasizes design engineering, cross-functional teamwork, and supporting the engine overhaul process, with 10% travel to domestic sites. A Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in engineering design and/or analysis is required.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter) and CAD/analysis tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite engineering support for engine teardown, inspection, and rebuild activities, evaluating hardware conditions and delivering technical guidance.
• Develop and implement design solutions applying Pratt & Whitney standards and cross-functional collaboration.
• Serve as the design engineering representative on CIPTs to balance durability, performance, manufacturability, cost, and weight.
• Evaluate serviceability of MSEN engine hardware by reviewing teardown findings, documenting decisions, and presenting recommendations to leadership.
• Expand structural analysis capabilities by applying analytical methods to support engineering decisions and design improvements.
• Travel: 10% to support program and customer needs (Domestic).
