Job summary

Magen David Yeshivah in New York is seeking a full-time Handyman to maintain the interior and exterior of the school campus. The role involves basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC tasks, and routine maintenance to keep facilities in good working order and safe for daily school operations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of handyman experience, physical stamina, and strong problem-solving skills. You will work onsite with a team to support classrooms, offices, and outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of handyman experience.
• Basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC knowledge.
• Basic carpentry, including installing shelves and cabinets.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs and routine building upkeep (e.g., wall damage, broken windows, minor plumbing, electrical, and lighting issues).
• Complete general maintenance work.
• Move heavy furniture, appliances, and equipment.
• Assist trades with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repair work.
• Clean windows, gutters, and exterior surfaces; snow removal.
• Paint surfaces and apply stain as needed.
• Follow workplace health and safety rules.
• Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles.
• Coordinate service with customers and handle complaints professionally.
• Manage job details, review daily tasks, and follow up with employees.
