Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an onsite Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support early childhood students in a school-based contract role. You will collaborate with licensed OTs and educators to implement IEP goals and promote students' independence and development.

Illinois COTA license is required; school- or pediatric-setting experience is preferred. Competitive weekly pay for 32.5 hours, plus health/dental/vision insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois COTA license required.
• Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred.
• Passion for early childhood education and supporting diverse needs.
• Knowledge of sensory processing, fine motor, and adaptive skills development.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team, students, and families.
• Up-to-date with state/district compliance requirements for school therapy staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy interventions onsite for early childhood students.
• Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Collect progress data and assist in evaluations under supervision.
• Adapt therapy materials and strategies to meet students' strengths and challenges.
• Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and families to promote carryover of skills.
• Document services and maintain records per school guidelines.
