Job summary

BlackSky is seeking an Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Engineer to support satellite and subsystem testing, test equipment development, and documentation. You will work with system and hardware engineers to ensure tests meet requirements and timelines.

You will author test procedures, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to DFx activities. Domestic and international travel may be required for launch campaigns, in a on-site Tukwila, WA environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Min 3 years hands-on production experience, preferably with space hardware.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and create harness schematics.
• Experience with integration, end-to-end testing, and operations.
• Strong understanding of satellite and satellite subsystems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Unwavering attention to detail with valuable hardware assets.
• Occasional travel domestically and internationally for launch campaigns.
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

• Tests satellites and subsystems, designing, developing, and executing test setups and documentation.
• Collaborates with engineering disciplines and program management to align tests with requirements and schedules.
• Maintain existing automated and manual test equipment and lead new test setups.
• Maintain satellite test harnessing and lead development of new harnessing.
• Execute satellite-level tests, support troubleshooting, and resolve stoppages.
• Create work instructions and training docs for satellite assemblies.
• Assist in process improvement projects to streamline test documentation and data management.
