Job summary

BlackSky, a real-time intelligence company, seeks an assembly, integration and test (AI&T) engineer to support satellite and subsystem testing in Tukwila, WA. You will design test setups, develop fixtures, and document procedures while collaborating with colleagues across disciplines.

You will travel as needed for launch campaigns and contribute to process improvements, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years in a production environment, preferably with space hardware.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and harness schematics.
• Demonstrated experience with integration, end-to-end testing, and operations.
• Strong understanding of satellite hardware and subsystems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team to meet goals.
• Attention to detail with valuable hardware assets.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for launch campaigns.
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person status.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test setups, instrumentation, and documentation for satellites and subsystems.
• Collaborate with engineering and program management to align tests with requirements and schedules.
• Maintain existing test equipment and lead development of new test setups or fixtures.
• Maintain harnessing for satellite tests and lead new harness development.
• Execute satellite-level tests, troubleshoot, and resolve test stoppages.
• Create work instructions and training docs for assemblies and subsystems.
• Support process improvements to streamline test documentation and data management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
