Job summary

Accenture Construct is seeking a Safety Lead to be onsite at client sites, delivering daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections and ensuring OSHA compliance, JHAs, SDS, and site-specific safety plans.

You will collaborate with engineers and superintendents to control hazards, run high‑risk activity risk assessments (scaffolding, trenching, crane ops), and lead safety training (forklift, lockout/tagout, hazmat handling).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or Engineering.
• Expertise in EPA standards (OSHA plus) and OSHA 500/510.
• Experience with safety inspections, JHAs, SDS, and safety plans.
• Experience delivering safety training and coordinating with site teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections to ensure OSHA compliance and update JHAs, SDS, and site safety plans.
• Ensure subcontractors meet safety obligations before work begins.
• Perform pre-task safety assessments to identify hazards such as falls and electrical risks.
• Lead risk assessments for high‑risk activities including scaffolding, trenching, crane ops, and confined spaces.
• Collaborate with engineers and superintendents to implement engineering controls and PPE.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses and violations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain incident logs, trend analysis, and report findings to leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Conduct new hire safety orientations and toolbox talks on fall protection and equipment safety.
• Develop and deliver specialized safety training (forklift, lockout/tagout, hazmat handling).
• Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging workers and addressing unsafe acts promptly.
• Onsite at client site to enable delivery and strengthen client relationships.
