Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Occupational Safety and Care Coordinator for our Richmond, VA projects. This in-person, full-time role centers on caring for injured workers, guiding them through medical options, and managing the overall claims process from first report to return to work.

You will work with the Safety Team, Risk Management, subcontractors, and third-party partners to deliver a best-in-class experience, ensuring safety and operational excellence on site.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of construction safety experience, including onsite claims handling.
• Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1904 Subpart C — Recordkeeping Forms and Recording Criteria.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and case management technologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of care coordination for injured workers — accompany them to medical appointments and assist with follow-up care.
• Establish and maintain project panels of physicians and partner clinics.
• Administer the claims and care process for onsite injuries with consistent management.
• Lead incident investigations with the safety team and ensure documentation is complete.
• Track incident data and claim trends to identify risk factors and improvements.
• Maintain professional communication with leadership on claim status and updates.
• Advise workers and management on risk management policies and best practices.
