Job summary

Gemtron, part of SSW Advanced Technologies, LLC, is recruiting an Onsite Quality Engineer to design, test, and evaluate integrated systems for manufacturing quality and process control. The role involves interpreting drawings, leading corrective actions, and driving QMS improvements on the factory floor.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams, perform 8-D problem solving, and train operators in quality tools and methods.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of quality engineering experience is required.
• Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Experience as a Direct Customer Contact with Major OEMs.
• Ability to interpret product drawings (GD&T) and technical standards.
• Ability to make formal presentations.
• Good problem-solving skills utilizing corrective action disciplines.
• Good understanding of Microsoft software packages.
• Ability to work within and lead a team.
• Experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Process/Tooling, and Shop Floor Supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing production processes including quality control, inventory control, and logistics.
• Interpret drawings and standards to develop and implement quality controls and product check methods.
• Stop production if non-conforming products are detected and drive containment actions.
• Lead 8-D problem-solving efforts and verify effectiveness with teams.
• Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and Quality Check Sheets.
• Provide training to operators and collaborate with manufacturing floor activities.
• Lead corrective action initiatives and communicate results to customers and suppliers.
