Job summary

ABB in Mebane, NC is seeking a quality inspector to ensure parts meet drawing and PPAP requirements before release to customers. Qualifications

• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Authorized to work in the US legally.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Skilled with measurement tools.
• Experience with non-conformance documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
• ERP or MES experience (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review supplier PPAP documentation for ABB requirements.
• Perform first article inspections on new and changed parts.
• Track and update PPAP status for new parts and engineering changes.
• Set up receiving inspection plans and verify incoming material conformance.
• Inspect purchased parts using gauges and CMM to drawing requirements.
• Document nonconformances and initiate SCARs to the Supplier Quality Engineer.
• Coordinate internal sorts, containment and rework of suspect material.
• Maintain supplier quality records, deviations and certificates in the QMS.
• Collect and report incoming quality data and metrics (PPM, reject rate).
