Role Overview

As a Quality Control Technician, you will perform and document visual observations, maintain continuity between office and field teams, and use technology to ensure quality control of the installation process. You will work closely with field crews, foremen, superintendents, and project managers to ensure constructability, accuracy, and seamless execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Centralize project data and implement an organized system for real‑time information access.
  • Perform unbiased third‑party observations to identify discrepancies and potential risks to help mitigate accidents and injuries on‑site.
  • Utilize technology to collect data and produce visual content communicating as‑built conditions.
  • Collaborate with field crews, foremen, superintendents, and project managers to optimize project success.
  • Document, report, and maintain all observations to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular site walks with 360 camera to document progress and highlight issues.
  • Capture existing conditions with 3D laser scanner and other equipment to identify discrepancies.
  • Operate robotic total station (RTS) to support layout activities and operate UAS (drone) systems for aerial imagery.
  • Compare model against collected data to ensure the digital model accurately represents construction elements.
  • Attend weekly meetings, present issues, and contribute to problem resolution.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years in construction.
  • Ability to travel 2 weeks – 18 months at a time and/or relocate.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and constructible solutions.
  • Technical proficiency with Scan Registration software, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary coordination efforts in BIM.
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration with contractors and project teams.
  • Familiarity with construction terminology and methods.
  • Extreme ownership mentality with full responsibility for quality control.
Work Environment
  • Candidates must reside within commuting distance to Garland, Texas.
  • The role is 100% onsite; no hybrid work schedules available.
  • Some travel may be required depending on project locations.
