Job summary

Richelieu Foods, Inc. is hiring a Supervisor, Quality Assurance to lead the quality technicians, implement QMS procedures, and ensure compliance with FDA, USDA and internal standards at our Illinois facilities.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with plant operations and corporate teams, oversee audits, CAPA, and testing programs while driving continuous improvement in a 100% on-site setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a strong understanding/ focus on food science, and mathematics.
• HACCP/PCQI certified.
• Knowledge of SQF, MOSA, RSPO, ISO and regulatory requirements FDA, USDA, CFIA etc.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in quality related function in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a supervisory/manager level role.

Responsibilities

• Define the work schedule for quality technicians and lead to ensure safe, effective and efficient implementation of all required tasks in the plant.
• Hire, On-board and actively manage performance of quality technicians.
• Ensure proper implementation of quality, food safety, employee safety and compliance actions.
• Develop or update work instructions related to the activities of the quality team and review current versions in the plant QMS.
• Develop and update training on work instructions.
• Investigate, Troubleshoot and/or escalation non-conformances based on criticality.
• Track and record quality performance metrics and create reports as required.
• Place product on hold, recommend and approve disposition decisions (based on risk assessment).
• Lead/execute verification and validation activities (e.g. CAPA, equipment validation, calibration).
• Lead/train and/or participate in internal audits, inspections and traceability exercises.
• Assist as needed in investigation of non-conformances/complaints.
• Serve as back-up for the quality manager in food safety team, plant operations meetings, audits.
