Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist for the Pulmonary Function Lab in Leominster, MA. The role involves on-site work, on-call shifts, and weekend coverage with a mixed 12-hour schedule.

The ideal candidate holds an RRT with MA license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 3 months of employment, plus 2+ years of acute care experience. Sign-on bonus eligibility may be discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Care required.
• Active license and NBRC credentials.
• Current BLS; ACLS, NRP, PALS within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Administers aerosolized medications and draws/analyses arterial blood gases.
• Reviews EMR for history and orders; communicates with physicians.
• Adjusts therapy with physician guidance and documents patient responses.
• Provides emergency care including intubation support and rapid response.
• Maintains respiratory equipment and trains new staff and students.
• Supervises agency and per-diem staff; supports quality assurance.
