Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Oak Street South site is seeking a Per Diem Psychiatry Care Assistant to provide direct care to patients with psychiatric disorders, supporting a safe therapeutic milieu. Shifts are 8 hours, with at least four per month, Days or Evenings, and must be flexible.

The role requires collaborating with the health care team, documenting accurately, and maintaining boundaries. BLS and LNA credentials preferred, High School diploma required, CPI training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is preferred.
• Successful completion of CPI training within 30 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients.
• Advocate for patients who may be vulnerable or need additional support.
• Parent/Family counseling, including Parent Management Training and Family Systems interventions.
• Adheres to guidelines for patients on special status (e.g. suicide, sexual abuse or AWOL precautions).
• Provides accurate information on shift-to-shift report and remains on the unit during handoffs.
• Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
• Maintains professional boundaries in relations with patients.
• Completes and files all required documentation promptly.
