Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician for an onsite role in Des Moines, IA. You will manage work orders, perform skilled repairs, and oversee the make-ready process to prepare units for leasing.

The position emphasizes safety compliance and high-quality upkeep of grounds, exteriors, and interiors. You will collaborate with the Community Manager to maintain inventory, schedule vendors, and ensure cost-effective operations, with a focus on resident satisfaction and adherence to Greystar

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance and repairs in a multi-unit residential setting.
• Ability to diagnose defects and repair according to policies and codes.
• Experience with the make-ready process for vacant units and inspections.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage work orders from resident requests and perform routine upkeep.
• Oversee and complete the make-ready process for vacant units, including inspections and scheduling vendors.
• Develop standards for cleanliness and appearance across grounds, exteriors, and interiors to reflect Greystar quality.
• Inspect work by other team members and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials within budget guidelines.
• Conduct monthly preventative maintenance as outlined in policy.
• Participate in safety meetings and keep MSDS sheets current.
