Job summary

Tailwind Group is seeking a Maintenance Manager for The Quarters Ames in Ames, IA. This in-person role oversees maintenance operations, leads a team, and collaborates with the Property Manager to ensure high-value living environments for students.

Responsibilities include general repairs, turnover management, vendor coordination, on-call duties, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in building maintenance.
• EPA Level II certificate preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Pool service knowledge and CPO certification preferred or may be required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent customer service with residents and vendors.
• Maintain curb appeal and conduct daily property walks with maintenance team.
• Perform general repairs in apartments, common areas, and building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, drywall).
• Lead turnover and make-ready processes including furniture removal and contractor oversight.
• Review, assign, and follow up on open work orders within company guidelines.
